If you are new to walking and would like to join us then please contact Sarah on 07879640676 or email dolman.sarah@yahoo.co.uk in the first instance as I need to know that you feel confident in doing our walks in the interest of safety for yourself and others. As these walks are not a stroll! Ideally you will have some level of fitness. Currently, you are able to come along for a ‘one free trial for a walk’. Yearly membership is £25.00. Please note that we normally have breaks on all walks and we usually take snacks/drinks to have on route even though we may stop at a pub/tea shop afterwards which is optional.
I also do not allow dogs on the walks, because of possible issues with cattle. There are other groups which cater for dog walkers. In addition, we take photographs (for our Facebook page) and sometimes video for promotional purposes, so if you do not wish to be included, then that is fine, please just opt out!.
Please park/meet at Beetley Village Hall, High House Road, Beetley, NR20 4BY ready for the usual 10.30am start. £1.00 donation towards village hall funds is required. The walk is a circular one taking in Hoe and Gorgate Hall area, plus walking through Hoe Rough Nature Reserve and Beetley meadows with their abundance of grassland habitats. Please meet outside the Ostrich Pub, on the Green, Castle Acre, PE32 2AE ready for the usual 10.30am start. Please park where you can in the village (you may some parking near the primary school, Back Lane) . Castle Acre has plenty to offer, boasting a Norman Motte and Bailey Castle, a cluniac priory and a large parish church. The surrounding area is undulating with excellent views. The walk follows the River Nar and heads over to West Acre, whereby we will have a break, so please bring snacks/drinks for this. Optional drinks after the walk if desired in the Ostrich pub. Hello, please meet/park at 6pm ready for a 6.15pm start from Fitzmaurice Park, Pound Lane, Norwich, NR7 OUL. The walk is a mixture of footpaths, and roads around Thorpe St Andrew, but some parts of the walk are in Thorpe Marshes, Nature Reserve and the River Yare, These are little gems hidden away on the City’s outskirts with it’s natural beauty. Some of the walk has some sharp uphill sections in Thorpe area! Drinks after the walk in a nearby River Pub, to finish the evening off nicely. New faces welcome to come along for a free trial. Please/park at Itteringham village hall, Church Street, Itteringham, NR11 7AX ready for the usual 10.30am start. Donations for the car park to the box on site. Mannington Hall is surrounded by gardens, trees, shrubs and a lake. We will get to start the walk from the car park and head for Mossymere woods, and up along to Plumstead where by we will have a break and return along Barningham green. The walk is a circular one taking in the Wherryman’s Way, Coldham Hall are and the River Yare along the way, Lots to see but if we have any rain before hand it could be muddy in places as prone to flooding! Please meet at the Quayside on Fye Bridge in Norwich, NR3 1HY. Please park where available in the City. We need to meet for 6pm and please allow 2 hours for the tour. Roger will guide us around the City centre, to hear about the tales about past murders, ghost stories and deaths with hangings. The tour will finish at St Andrews, whereby there is the option of drinks afterwards. The tour is open to all, costs £2.00 cash on the day.
