Walks & Events In Norfolk

If you are new to walking and would like to  join us then please contact Sarah on 07879640676 or email dolman.sarah@yahoo.co.uk  in the first instance as I need to know that you feel confident in doing our walks in the interest of safety for yourself and others. As these walks are not a stroll! Ideally you will have some level of fitness. Currently, you are able to come along for a ‘one free trial for a walk’. Yearly membership is £25.00.  Please note that we normally have breaks on all walks and we usually take snacks/drinks to have on route even though we may stop at a pub/tea shop afterwards which is optional.

I also do not allow dogs on the walks, because of possible issues with cattle. There are other groups which cater for dog walkers. In addition, we take photographs (for our Facebook page) and sometimes video for promotional purposes, so if you do not wish to be included, then that is fine, please just opt out!.

Please park/meet at the Church Rooms, Holt Road, Horsford, NR10 3DE ready for the usual 10.30am start. Please park tightly. £1.00 donation towards hall funds. Toilets available too. The walk is a mixture of lanes, tracks which takes us over to Thorpe Marriot and Drayton. Walking in Horsford woods too! Optional drinks after the walk in Horsford. Come along and meet others whilst getting some exercise.  New faces welcome to come along and try us out for a free trial before deciding if they would like to join up with  us. Please meet/park at Weavers Way free car park, Station Road, Briggate, NR28 9QX, for the usual 10.30am start. Please google the area before heading out. Tony has kindly offered to lead this very pleasant and rewarding walk. The walk takes us along Weavers Way, North Walsham/Dilham Canal and back through East Ruston and Honing. Opitional drinks after the walk at the Crown Pub, Smallburgh in the newly reopened pub which involves Wildcraft Brewery, all welcome. New members welcome if you know that you can do the distance! Please join us for a Sunday lunch at the popular Parson Woodford pub/restaurant I have  booked for a certain amount of people, on a first come, first served basis. The table is booked for a 1.30pm sit down. Please google the Parson Woodford website for sample menus for Sunday lunch, roast (about £17.95) and normal menu applies. Please meet/park at Strumpshaw village hall, Mill Road, NR13 4FS, ready for the usual 10.30am start, so best to arrive 10 mins beforehand. We will need to contribute £1.00 per person towards village hall funds today. The walk is a figure of eight and incorporates good footpaths, tracks over to Blofield and Brundall on route. Hello,  please meet/park in the large layby near the Gull pub (now closed up) Loddon Road, Framingham Pigot, NR14 7PL ready for the usual 10.30am prompt start. The walk is a mixture of footpaths and tracks in the Alpington/Yelverton area, followed by optional drinks in the Wheel of Fortune pub, Alpington. There is also the Highways Garden centre too for a cuppa if preferred! New faces welcome to come along for a free trail to see if you like us, sorry but we do not allow dogs on the walks. Please meet outside the Maids Head Hotel, Tombland at 6.40pm ready to head over to the Cathedral. This is a elborate light show to be illuminated in style on the centuries old stones, an elaborate back drop. ‘Time by Luxmuralis’ first time in Norwich. See Norwich Cathedral website to book your tickets, £10.00. We have booked for the 6.45pm slot, with optional drinks to follow. Please allow 45 mins approx to look inside the Cathedral. Please let me know you are coming along. Sunday December 6th Walk and Christmas Meal. The walk will be from Marsham at 10.15am, 5/6 miles, details to come further nearer the time.  The Christmas meal will be at the Fox pub, Hevingham for a 12.30pm sit down, not a set menu but ordinary menu with some seasonal specials, this will be known at the end of October. So, please take a look at the menu later in the month and let me have your choices, by the end of November. Deserts to be decided on the day. £5.00 deposit to secure your place, numbers are filling up so please let me know if you would like to come along for the meal sooner rather than later!  You do not have to do both the walk and the meal though.
